PROTOCOL wine studio is dedicated to exploring the culture of wine via educational events.  As we lay our roots, we’re exploring various concepts in group wine experiences.  We invite you to review our event schedule and attend:


Communal Table

The Communal Table philosophy centers around a cultural aesthetic of the role of wine in our social environments, but it must never take center stage.  That role is solely reserved for all of us and as such Communal Table becomes the backdrop for this social experiment. We’ll discuss and drink to the most pressing topics we face today.

An intimate classroom is the ideal setting to hone palates and meet other wine-minded folks. PROTOCOL wine studio has collaborated with Lindsay Pomeroy, owner of Wine Smarties to present the following classes at our wine studio.

APRIL CLASSES

Same Grape Different Region
Join us as we explore 5 different wines made from the same grape varietal(s) from around the world while comparing and contrasting how growing regions and producers affect flavors in wines. For this class we will be opening up Pinot Noirs produced around the world. Cost $40 per person.

Grand Cru: Producer Focus
In this high-end class, we will be tasting wines that average $100 each! We will be comparing and contrasting wines from 1 region, 1 grape (or same blend of grapes), and 1 producer of different vintage years. This micro-focused comparative should give you a foundation to how a producer can affect the style of the wine. Cost $55 per person.

MAY CLASSES

World of Wine 101
Come and learn how to properly break down wine, learn about how climate, soil and production influences the cost and style of wines. We will be opening 5 different wines and styles from around the world. RSVP is required. Space is limited. There is a 48-hour cancellation policy. Cost $35 per person or $30 per person if you book with one more person.

Grand Cru: Genius Wines from Germany, Austria & Hungary
Wish you could afford those $100 bottles of wine you hear about? We will be exploring what makes the best white wines from Germany, Austria and Hungary so loved by wine professionals. This is a great class if you are already an enthusiast or perhaps don’t think white wines can offer the complexity of reds. We aim to show you the genius behind these wines. All wines will be of top-growth status. Costs $55 per person and space is very limited!

JUNE CLASSES

Blind Taste like a Pro (for Beginners)
This wine tasting series will give you the opportunity to practice and refine your blind tasting skills. We will taste according to the WSET grid. This blind tasting will be geared towards the beginner to intermediate wine taster. We will be practicing 5 wines that represent classic wines from classic regions. Cost $35 per person or $30 per person if you book with one more person. RSVP is required.

Grand Cru: Taste the Age of Wine
Join me as we compare and contrast a vertical of 5 different vintages from 1 wine producer. We will be discussing how age affects the flavor of the wine while discussing what makes a wine age well. This is a great class if you are a collector or a consumer of older wines. The bottles of wine cost on average $100 each. Cost $55 per person. Space is limited.

Ray Ferrer

Nationally recognized East Coast artist Ray Ferrer seeks various harmonies and ideas to visually engage his audience. He uses art as an opportunity to experiment with the range of possibilities allowed through his choice of materials, spray paint and hand cut stencils.

Ray’s work captures spaces of partial or full illumination between the perfect shadows on all sides of a person or an object. The artwork conveys the real beauty of the subject. The viewer is able to appreciate the simplicity, splendor and exquisiteness of his subjects.

His work is raw, stripped back, honest.
